This is an antibacterial polyester staple fiber blended with high-performance nano zinc oxide. The nano zinc oxide is molecularly bonded within the fiber structure, allowing it to exhibit functions such as antibacterial properties, deodorization, and UV protection from within the fiber. Unlike coating processes, the functional component, nano zinc oxide, does not wash off during laundering, thus causing no adverse effects on the natural ecosystem. PERMA permanent antibacterial polyester staple fiber is a sustainable material with low environmental impact that can be utilized in general products as well as in the medical field.
Tests by major inspection agencies have confirmed that PERMA's antibacterial material, blended with nano zinc oxide, has the effect of suppressing the proliferation of Staphylococcus aureus and Klebsiella pneumoniae, bacteria commonly found in daily living spaces that cause skin diseases, allergies, respiratory illnesses, and unpleasant odors.
【Characteristics】
1. Permanent antibacterial polyester staple fiber. Size: 1.3D x 38mm, Crimp count: 10-12/1cm
2. Hydrophobic material with a moisture absorption rate of approximately 2.5-3.0% (General polyester has a moisture absorption rate of 1.5-2.0%)
3. AATCC 100: 2019. Evaluation result of 99.0% bacteriostatic (growth inhibition) activity in antibacterial fabric tests according to the American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists (AATCC) standard (Permanent antibacterial effect).
4. UPF value (Ultraviolet Protection Factor) is approximately 25-30% higher compared to conventional polyester. Conventional polyester UPF: 35.822, PERMA fiber UPF: 44.328
5. Approximately 20 microamperes of energy are released from the nano zinc oxide blended into the fiber, reacting with moisture in the air near the PERMA fiber to generate skin-beneficial hydrogen peroxide (H2O2).
　The generated hydrogen peroxide is in trace amounts, at a level safe for living cells. (Cell viability > 65%)
6. When blended with other fibers, a PERMA fiber blend ratio of approximately 30% or more of the total fabric weight is recommended to achieve antibacterial effects.
