First conceived in 1985, NKC's Friction Conveyor System (FCS) is now globally recognized as a "next-generation" conveyor system. The FCS drive mechanism converts the motor's driving force into frictional force that can be directly applied to skids, carriers, or pallets.
This technology offers customers advantages previously unavailable with a single conveyor type.
Some of these advantages include increased speed, improved working environment, reduced noise levels, pollutants, and operating costs. This state-of-the-art system is another example of NKC's long history of contributing to the development of other industries.

FCS offers sufficient flexibility for almost all applications.
FCS drive units can be mounted on the radius of horizontal turns, thus imposing virtually no restrictions on layout path configuration. By incorporating traversers and turntables into the system design, FCS can operate in a similar manner to conventional European-style skid systems.
By utilizing track switches and stoppers, FCS offers the same advantages as conventional power and free type conveyors. The system is designed to transition smoothly from friction drive to conventional fixed dog chain conveyors, with no auxiliary equipment to maximize space efficiency.
Floor Type
Standard Friction System
NKC floor-type friction systems feature a much lower rail height than conventional inverted conveyor systems, allowing for easier maintenance access. Our floor-type product line includes a wide range of pallet friction systems and skillet systems as alternatives to conventional shuttle and slat conveyors.
Overhead Type
NKC overhead friction conveyor systems are ideal for painting and assembly processes. The absence of chains eliminates common contaminants such as oil, metal dust, and debris, resulting in a cleaner product.
Shuttle Type
NKC shuttle-type friction systems excel in straight-line systems, moving materials quickly. Their excellent acceleration and stopping accuracy make them ideal for robot-assisted operations.
Pallet Type
A smaller cousin to the skillet system, the NKC pallet-type FCS is ideal for small production parts. This version exhibits the same speed, accuracy, and cleanliness as larger systems.
Simple Unit Structure for Various Designs.
Unit control boxes are self-contained in a distributed format. Variable frequency drives are available as an option to achieve smooth conveyance. NKC's ingenious concept and modular design allow common units to be freely combined as needed, brilliantly meeting many design requirements.
Drive Unit
Both power and communication cables between the control box and motor use "quick disconnect" type cable connectors, allowing for quick and easy maintenance.
Merging Switch Unit
An auxiliary cam arm with low-friction rollers allows the merging switch unit to operate without power or compressed air, while minimizing trolley wear.
Exit Switch Unit
The exit switch unit is driven by the same energy-efficient motor used in the drive unit, maximizing the use of common components.
Stopper Unit
In most cases, the system uses motor control to stop carriers as needed. However, in areas requiring stopping accuracy and operator safety, precision stop units are employed. Again, the stop unit is driven by the same motor used in the drive unit to minimize spare parts.
