One-Stop, Continuous Production in Thailand — From Coil Winding to Resin Overmolding
If you're sourcing resin-overmolded coils in Thailand, splitting winding and resin molding across multiple suppliers often creates a heavy burden of management and logistics between factories, along with risks of damage during transport, semi-finished inventory buildup, and difficulty maintaining consistent quality.
Pronec understands this challenge. That's why we've modified and adapted standard winding machines to match the specific requirements of each product, bringing the entire process — bobbin molding, winding, assembly, and coil resin overmolding — together on a single production line.
Managing cycle time and production capacity centrally within one factory allows us to control parameters at every step with precision. It also significantly reduces the need to transport parts between locations and eliminates the buildup of semi-finished stock along the way.
As a result, if a defect occurs, our team can immediately trace the production history and review the conditions of each process step, making root-cause analysis and correction fast. This integrated production system is a key reason we can reduce quality variation and deliver consistently and on time.
Production Capabilities and Mass-Production Contract Manufacturing System
For sourcing parts for mass production, what matters most is the flexibility to scale output to match market demand, along with machine stability that keeps dimensions and quality consistent.
Pronec's factory in Thailand is equipped with in-house-developed winding machines, alongside multi-spindle winding machines that use simultaneous multi-part production technology — capable of winding up to 5 coils at once per spindle.
We've also moved beyond error-prone manual work by designing and building our own specialized machinery for the production line, including:
- Automatic coil bending presses, for precise mechanical shaping of coils
- Automatic glue dispensers, for consistent control of glue quantity and placement
- Automatic winding equipment customized to each product's size and specification
- Dedicated molds and fixtures for coil resin overmolding
- Automated systems linking transport, assembly, and characteristic testing
With these automated technologies integrated together, Pronec is ready to support everything from prototype trials to mass production lines capable of several million units per month (depending on the specific engineering requirements of the product). Moving to automation reduces quality variation caused by operator skill, and prevents dimensional errors, excess glue, or misaligned assembly beyond tolerance — giving you confidence in consistently high product quality.
Production Line Machinery and Quality Inspection System
When entrusting production to a factory overseas, the reliability of inspection results and a fully traceable data system are among the most important factors in choosing a manufacturer.
Pronec supports comprehensive electrical property testing, with an integrated shared-probe system linking test mode switching, measurement, evaluation, and automatic sorting of defective parts. Key inspection items include:
Inspection Item | Detail / Measurement Method |
Resistance Test | Measures coil resistance against electrical specifications |
Withstanding Voltage Test | Tests insulation durability under high-voltage conditions |
Insulation Resistance Test | Measures insulation resistance between the conductor and surrounding structure |
Impulse Test | Tests the integrity of the wire coating to prevent short circuits between winding turns |
Dimensional Inspection | Measures the product's dimensions after resin molding |
Visual Inspection | Checks for defects, air bubbles, or incomplete resin fill in the mold |
On the data management side, we use "QC Pro" quality control software to automatically record and analyze measurement results, completely eliminating the risk of manual data-entry errors. Automated result judgment also speeds up detection of statistical anomalies or even minor dimensional shifts that would be difficult to spot with the naked eye.
All inspection data is stored in a central system and can be instantly traced by product code or lot number to support efficient root-cause analysis if a defect occurs. We can also issue an Inspection Certificate to provide fully transparent quality data in line with customer requirements.

Industries and Types of Resin-Overmolded Coils We Support
Resin-overmolded coils are key components widely used in electrical and electronic parts that require high electrical insulation, waterproofing, vibration resistance, and excellent mechanical strength.
We support contract coil manufacturing across a wide range of industries, based on our customers' real-world application conditions, including:
- Automotive Components — motor coils, actuator coils, solenoid valve coils, automotive sensor parts, and electrical components that must withstand high humidity and vibration in the engine bay
- Medical Devices — solenoid valve coils for dialysis machines, flow-rate control coils, and actuator components that demand an especially high level of safety and operational stability
- Industrial Equipment & Automation — coils for linear modules, motors for conveyor and transport systems, valve actuators for manufacturing systems, sensor parts, and antenna assemblies
- Other Specialized Applications — fuel shut-off valves for general-purpose engines, waterproof coils for outdoor equipment, impact-resistant electronic components, and integrated coil structures designed to reduce device size and weight
For resin grade selection and molding conditions, our team evaluates the specific engineering requirements of each product, such as operating temperature range, chemical resistance, waterproofing performance, and required insulation level.
Engineering Support from the Earliest Design Stage
When outsourcing coil and resin-overmolded part production to an external partner, collaborating and exchanging engineering input from the earliest design stage is essential to preventing substandard parts and yield decline once production begins.
Pronec has a Japanese representative stationed at our Thailand factory to coordinate and communicate technical details directly with your engineering team. We don't just produce sample parts — we work with you to review drawings and specifications, and to recommend mold structures and production steps suited to real-world mass production.
During the design and prototyping stage, our team systematically evaluates several engineering factors, including:
- Coil dimensional variation assessment — analyzing wire thickness and winding tension, which affect the coil's width and outer diameter, to ensure the coil shape fits properly and safely into the mold cavity before overmolding
- Winding fixture surface preparation — preventing wire fragments or glue residue from sticking to the fixture, which could distort the part or break the wire during removal, by selecting an appropriate coating or surface treatment for the fixture based on the type of glue and wire used
- Wire-breakage prevention at the terminal — especially for microfine wire, which is vulnerable to resin pressure and mechanical stress during injection molding; our team considers applying twist processing to increase strength, as well as adjusting the resin flow direction to reduce direct force on the wire end
- Resin overmolding process control — to prevent the coil from deforming or the terminal from shifting due to liquid resin flow, we evaluate mold structure, gate position, injection pressure, and clamping method, along with settings to prevent incomplete resin fill, air bubbles, burrs, or leakage around the terminal from the earliest trial runs
This upfront joint assessment and planning — focused on ease of manufacturing and maintaining yield — reduces the need for later structural revisions, shortens product development time, and allows large-scale production lines to launch smoothly on schedule.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: Can we reach out with only a drawing or a specification sheet?
A1: Absolutely. Our team is happy to analyze your drawings and requirements to assess feasibility for coil winding, assembly, resin overmolding, and quality inspection, and to propose improvements that make manufacturing easier while maintaining consistent quality in real production.
Q2: Do you support the full process from prototyping through to the transition to mass production?
A2: Yes, we offer a fully integrated service. In the early stage, our team tests and evaluates parameters such as winding conditions, resin molding conditions, and the quality inspection system. That real-world data is then used to design dedicated fixtures and configure our in-house automated systems to build the actual production line for future mass production.
Q3: What types of resin can you support for overmolding?
A3: Resin selection depends on the part's shape, its application environment, and requirements for heat resistance, waterproofing performance, and electrical insulation level. Our team reviews your part design to analyze the impact on the coil winding and molding performance, and to recommend the most suitable resin type and injection conditions.
Q4: Can we supply only pre-wound coils and have Pronec handle resin overmolding alone?
A4: Whether we can take on resin overmolding alone depends on the coil structure and the condition of the semi-finished coil you supply. We would need to review the coil size, terminal shape and specification, heat resistance, and how the part will be clamped in the injection mold beforehand, in order to propose the most suitable production plan and define the scope of work.
