[OA Equipment, Automotive, Home Appliance & Aviation Parts] Die-Less to Mass Press Production, Matched to Quantity

PRESS CRAFT (THAILAND) carries out press processing in Thailand, primarily for OA equipment parts, along with car audio parts and home appliance parts.

In addition to conventional mass press production using dies, the company also supports die-less processing using a turret punch-laser combination machine. From prototypes and small lots through to mass production, processing methods are selected according to quantity and product specifications, and the company also proposes "combine production," which uses die-less processing for some processes and die press for the rest.

Fields Served and Processing Track Record, Centered on OA Equipment

PRESS CRAFT (THAILAND) handles processing of parts for car audio, home appliances, and PMA (aviation-related), with press parts for OA equipment as its core field.

Building on press processing technology developed over many years, the company carries out processing according to the intended use and required specifications of each product. In addition to press processing, the company also has the equipment and production system to handle secondary processes such as welding, painting, and caulking, so necessary downstream processes can be discussed together as well.

Die-Less Processing with the Turret Punch-Laser Combination Machine

Alongside this support for mass production, the company has also begun offering die-less processing, in order to propose processing methods matched to quantity for the growing demand for prototypes and small-lot production in recent years.

For parts that are prototypes or have low production quantities, building a dedicated die for that purpose often makes it impossible to recover the die investment cost.

To address projects of this kind, PRESS CRAFT (THAILAND) has introduced an Amada turret punch-laser combination machine. Since no new die needs to be made, and parts can be shaped using punching and laser cutting, prototypes and small-lot items can be produced at relatively low unit cost.

The main equipment specifications are as follows.

Mass Production with 35–300t Presses, Supported by In-House Die Design and Manufacturing

For projects where production quantity increases and press processing with dies is suitable, the company supports this with various press equipment ranging from 35 to 300t. In addition to progressive and single presses, the company also has automated production lines with 3/5-axis robots and line pacers, and selects equipment according to product shape and production quantity.

Dies are designed and manufactured in-house, with an in-house production ratio of 90% and 10 designers in the die department. In addition, the company maintains close cooperation with the Soubi Group's overseas bases, including a dedicated die design and manufacturing plant in China. For more complex dies, the company can work with its group network, from design and manufacturing through to mass production startup.

Processing Proposals Tailored to Each Project

PRESS CRAFT (THAILAND) considers the production method for each project, taking into account quantity, product shape, material, sheet thickness, required precision, die investment, and production efficiency.

One of the options is "combine production," which uses die-less processing with the combination machine together with die press processing. In some cases where the product shape makes it difficult to process with the combination machine alone, the company can draw on its strength as a press manufacturer to combine this with die processing in-house, without going through an outside subcontractor.

By adding die-less processing as a new option to the technology built up from die design and manufacturing through to mass press production, the company has established a system that is not fixed to a single processing method, but instead proposes a suitable approach while considering the production process as a whole.

Expanding the range of equipment and processing methods to accommodate changes in manufacturing industry needs, such as the trend toward high-mix, low-volume production, is also one aspect of PRESS CRAFT (THAILAND)'s capability. Even at a stage where drawings or specifications are not yet finalized, the company can consider a suitable processing method by checking production quantity and requirements. Inquiries are welcome.

FAQ

Q: Can I request prototypes or small-lot production without having a die made?
A: Yes. The company supports die-less processing using the turret punch-laser combination machine. Product shape, material, sheet thickness, and production quantity will be checked to determine a suitable processing method.

Q: Can die-less processing be combined with die press processing?
A: Yes. The company can propose "combine production," which uses die-less processing for some processes and die press for the rest. Rather than unifying everything into a single method, processes are combined to suit the product's conditions.

Q: Can I consult with the company even at a stage where drawings or production conditions are not yet finalized?
A: Yes. The company can consider a processing method based on whatever information is available at the time, such as quantity, intended use, and required specifications. Inquiries are welcome even before a processing method has been decided.
