Integrated In-House Production from Dies to Secondary Processing and Assembly
A key feature of the company is that it handles not only press forming but also connects upstream die manufacturing with downstream processes such as welding, painting, caulking, and assembly within its own factory.
Die Design and Manufacturing
The company designs and manufactures dies in-house based on product drawings. Led by the die department, the engineering, quality control, and press departments work together to consider die structures while taking mass-production processability and productivity into account.
Press Forming
The company uses 35–300t press equipment and selects processing methods according to product shape and quantity, including Single Press, Progressive Press, Line Pacer, and Transfer Press.
Welding and Caulking
The company supports Spot Welding, Projection Welding, Fiber Laser Welding, YAG Laser Welding, TIG Welding, and other welding methods.
Welding methods are considered according to requirements such as appearance, flatness, and strength. Secondary processes such as High-Spin Caulking and Tapping are also supported.
Painting and Silk Screen Printing
The company has both Powder Coating and Solvent Painting lines and selects painting methods according to requirements for appearance, corrosion resistance, heat resistance, and coating thickness. Silk Screen Printing for letters and markings is also supported.
Assembly
The company also supports the assembly of small components onto press parts. Products can therefore be delivered not only as individual parts but also after secondary processing or assembly.
By handling dies, pressing, welding, painting, caulking, and assembly within the same factory, the company reduces the need for customers to arrange separate processing companies for each process and allows purchasing and process management to be consolidated.
Quality Control Supporting Integrated Production
In mass-production processes, cameras are installed in almost all press, secondary processing, and packing processes. More than 600 cameras are operated throughout the factory, and video footage is stored for approximately 30 days.
Quality defects must not occur, but in the event that an issue arises, the company investigates the cause based on camera records and implements measures to prevent recurrence.
In addition, quality reviews are conducted during weekly manager meetings. Causes of problems are analyzed and inspection points are reviewed as part of continuous quality improvement activities.
Quotation and Production Launch Support Utilizing an Integrated Production System
When launching a new product, it is important not to determine manufacturability based only on drawings. Advance consideration is required with mass production in mind, including die structure, press conditions, welding methods, and secondary processing.
Multiple departments are involved from the quotation and preliminary review stages. Processing conditions are checked and prototypes are produced as necessary. Because the company has die, press, welding, and painting processes in-house, projects involving multiple processes can be reviewed by bringing together the knowledge of each department and defining the processing method in detail.
For example, for products requiring welding, the company considers not only the product shape but also workability during mass production and equipment conditions when determining joining methods and processing conditions. This internal coordination makes it possible to identify potential mass-production issues at an early stage and connect them to a smooth production launch.
Process Improvement and VE Proposals Based on Customer Requirements
PRESS CRAFT (THAILAND) does not simply carry out the processing method specified by the customer. After reviewing product requirements and mass-production conditions, the company can also propose more suitable processing methods and production processes.
For example, in welding, the company can propose joining methods according to product shape and required quality, as well as review joint designs with robotic welding in mind, while considering mass-production suitability.
The company also supports VE proposals that review the production process itself according to product specifications. One example is changing a previously outsourced Plating process to in-house Solvent Painting in order to reduce lead time and cost.
Because multiple processes such as die manufacturing, pressing, welding, and painting are available in-house, process improvements can be considered without being limited to a specific processing method, while taking quality, delivery, cost, and productivity into account.
