It addresses conventional cylindrical grinding challenges like re-clamping, misalignment, and chuck marks. The proposed solution is the TO-6040 II TM-IF Centerless Grinding Machine, integrated with a Workrest Sliding Mechanism and a Robotic System. This total grinding system fully automates the process—from loading and unloading to measurement—by combining the machine with a robot and an in-process gauge. Leveraging the principles of free support, regenerative centering, and friction braking, it eliminates axial misalignment and chuck marks. Key benefits include a 28% reduction in total processing time through full automation, improved measurement consistency, and stable, high-precision machining (achieving P-P 0.58 μm roundness) regardless of operator skill.
