【No Pit Construction Required】 Eliminating Heavy Labor for Rust Removal and Paint Stripping on Large Structures | LF Blast Room
Are you struggling with rust removal, paint stripping, or surface preparation before painting for heavy items such as large welded structures, molds, and rolls?
“We are still manually grinding construction machinery frames and bridge components with sanders or grinders, and it takes far too much time.”
“During blasting operations, dust is severe, visibility is poor, and we are concerned about the health impact on operators.”
“We want to install a blast room, but our factory is close to the sea, making it impossible to carry out foundation work that requires deep pit excavation.”
If even one of these issues applies to your situation, the large-scale air blast system ‘LF Blast Room’, developed by Fuji Manufacturing, is the ideal solution to simultaneously eliminate heavy labor and installation constraints at your site.
3 Technologies That Achieve Both “No Construction Required” and “Dramatically Reduced Maintenance”
Why is it possible to be “no construction required” and “easy to maintain”? Based on the documentation, the technical reasons are explained below.
1. No Pit Construction Required! Proprietary Low-Floor Design
Conventional blast rooms require a deep pit (foundation) to be excavated beneath the floor in order to circulate abrasive media. This often restricts installation locations and results in high construction costs.
The LF Blast Room adopts a proprietary low-floor hopper structure, successfully reducing the required pit depth to less than 1 meter (with a minimum base height of 400 mm).
Benefit: It can be installed even in coastal factories with high groundwater levels where deep excavation is not possible. In addition, by installing a ramp, the system can be placed directly on the ground in a pitless configuration, making layout changes and relocation much easier.
2. Conveyor-Free “Air-Powered Automatic Recovery System”
The collection and classification of abrasive media that falls beneath the floor are carried out using only airflow, without relying on mechanical equipment such as belt conveyors or screw conveyors.
Mechanism: The abrasive media is transported while suspended inside straight pipes, meaning there are no mechanical drive components beneath the floor.
Benefit: Failures caused by media clogging and wear of the transport system are virtually eliminated. This frees operators from harsh maintenance work in dark, confined pit areas and significantly reduces running costs.
3. Downflow Ventilation for Clear Visibility
Inside the processing chamber, a constant downward airflow (downflow) is always generated from the ceiling toward the floor. A powerful ventilation and dust-collection system quickly exhausts airborne dust, ensuring clear visibility even during operation. This eliminates the stress of “not being able to see the work area due to dust,” while enhancing operator safety and enabling high-quality processing.
Specific Applications and Track Record
The LF Blast Room has been delivered in over 100 units to date and is widely adopted at many production sites. It demonstrates outstanding performance particularly in the following applications:
Construction machinery and heavy equipment parts: Rust removal and surface preparation before painting for large welded structures such as frames and arms.
Bridge and infrastructure components: Surface preparation of long steel structures.
Large molds and rolls: Removal of old coatings and contaminants during maintenance, as well as matte (textured) finishing.
Semiconductor manufacturing equipment parts: Cleaning of large components such as chambers and frames.
Support System of FUJI BLASTECH (THAILAND)
We are not simply a trading company that sells equipment. We are an engineering company that deploys and supports the technology of Fuji Manufacturing (Japan) in Thailand.
Customized design: We design the optimal room size and material handling method based on your factory space and workpiece dimensions (with proven experience handling workpieces of up to 40 meters in length).
Local support in Thailand: With our base in Samut Prakan, both Japanese and Thai staff provide prompt support from supervision of installation work to after-sales maintenance.
【Free】 Would you like to test the effectiveness using your sample workpiece?
Simply reviewing the specifications in a catalog does not show how clean your actual workpieces will become or how much your work efficiency will improve.
If you are wondering, “Is it really faster than manual work?”, we invite you to take advantage of our free test processing service (test quantity subject to consultation).
At our demo center in Samut Prakan, Thailand, you are welcome to bring your actual workpieces (test samples). We will select the most suitable abrasive media from over 400 types and set the optimal machine parameters to carry out test processing.
Please see for yourself the finished surface quality, processing time, and ease of operation after processing.
Let this be the first step toward freeing your production site from heavy labor and dramatically improving productivity. We look forward to hearing from you.
