【Improving Deburring & Rust Removal Efficiency】 An Air Blast Manual System That Eliminates “Quality Inconsistencies” Caused by Manual Work | PNEUMA-BLASTER
Introduction: Is That “Manual Work” Becoming a Bottleneck to Productivity?
"Skilled workers spend hours deburring fine details on prototypes."
"The quality of rust removal and surface finishing (matte finish) varies depending on the operator."
"You want to handle mold maintenance in-house, but lack equipment that can safely handle workpieces weighing several tons."
In manufacturing sites in Thailand, processes such as prototyping, small-lot production, rework, and mold maintenance tasks that cannot be integrated into automated lines still tend to rely heavily on manual labor. However, work performed with disk grinders or sandpaper is not only time-consuming, but also carries a major risk of operator-dependent quality, where results vary according to individual skill levels.
If you are looking to dramatically improve efficiency without going as far as installing full automation, the solution to consider is a high-performance manual air blast system.
The PNEUMA-BLASTER series provided by FUJI BLASTECH (THAILAND) is an industrial air blast system developed by Fuji Manufacturing. Designed with Japanese engineering expertise, the system enables even inexperienced operators to achieve the same consistent finish as skilled craftsmen, significantly boosting productivity on the shop floor.
Why Is the PNEUMA-BLASTER Chosen? (Technical Advantages and Regulatory Compliance)
The key difference between a typical simple sandblast cabinet and our PNEUMA-BLASTER lies in Fuji Manufacturing’s long-standing commitment to processing quality, combined with a design that complies with Thai regulations.
1. A Classification System That Delivers Consistent Cutting Performance Over Time
During blasting operations, abrasive media gradually break down and mix with rust and dust removed from the workpiece. If this mixture is reused as-is, not only does processing performance decline, but surface finish quality also deteriorates.
Our machines (general-purpose models such as the SGF and FD series) are equipped as standard with high-performance cyclones and classification tanks.
How it works: Using differences in specific gravity and airflow, the system automatically separates “usable abrasive media” from “unnecessary dust and fragmented abrasives.”
Benefits: Because only clean, uniformly sized abrasive media are continuously blasted, consistent surface quality is maintained even during long operating hours, eliminating quality variation.
2. No skilled workers required! Anyone can achieve “consistent, uniform quality”
With manual polishing, it is difficult to process complex shapes, fine grooves, or internal diameters evenly. In contrast, air blasting propels abrasive media with controlled airflow, allowing uniform treatment across every corner and detail of the workpiece. Because the equipment itself ensures the quality of the finish, there is no need to rely on an operator’s experience or intuition. As a result, anyone can perform the task while consistently delivering stable, high-quality results.
【Case Study】Which Model Is the Best Fit for Your Shop Floor?
From our wide lineup featured in the catalog, here are concrete examples of how specific challenges can be solved.
Case 1: Processing "Prototype Parts" in a Laboratory or Small Factory
Recommended Models: Space-Saving Air Blast Systems (SFC / SFK Series)
Solution: A compact, integrated design that combines the main unit and dust collector, allowing installation even in limited spaces.
SFC Model: Despite its compact size, it is equipped with a classification tank, enabling stable and consistent processing over long operating periods.
SFK Model: Featuring a simple structure and easy abrasive replacement, this model is ideal for R&D and prototyping environments where various abrasive media need to be tested.
※ For customized models, load capacity and workpiece size can be adjusted. Please feel free to contact us for details.
Case 2: Safely handling “slightly heavy” items such as molds and jigs
Recommended Model: Swing Table Type Air Blast Machine (SGK-ST / FD-ST Series)
Solution: When the door is opened, the turntable swings forward toward the operator. This design makes it easy to load workpieces either by hoist crane lifting or by manual handling.
Capacity: Supports loads of up to 150 kg. By manually rotating the table, even heavy molds and jigs can be processed efficiently on all surfaces.
※ For customized models, load capacity and product size can be adjusted. Please feel free to contact us for details.
Case 3: Maintenance of large molds weighing over 1 ton
Recommended Model: Cart Table Type Air Blast Machine (SGK-DT / FD-DT Series)
Solution: The cart-style table can be pulled out from the side door, allowing heavy workpieces to be loaded directly by crane.
Capacity: Supports workpieces of up to 2,000 kg (2 tons). Large mold maintenance as well as rust removal and paint stripping for construction machinery parts can be performed safely, without operators having to manually lift heavy items.
※ For customized models, load capacity and product size can be adjusted. Please feel free to contact us for details.
Case 4: Performing even finer “precision processing”
Recommended Models: Fine Abrasive System (SC Series) / Pencil-Type Blasting Unit
Solution:
SC Series: Capable of stable blasting and circulation of ultra-fine abrasive media as small as approximately 20 μm, making it ideal for fine deburring and surface finishing of precision components.
Pencil-Type (e.g., Pollux): Uses small-diameter nozzles (such as 0.5 mm) to enable pinpoint processing of extremely fine areas, similar to work performed while viewing through a microscope.
※ For customized models, load capacity and product size can be adjusted. Please feel free to contact us for details.
Case 5: Dealing with troublesome “static electricity” and “oil contamination”
Recommended Model: Wet Blast Machine (MS Series)
Solution: A slurry made by mixing water and abrasive media is blasted using a pump and compressed air.
Benefits: Because water is used, static electricity does not occur and damage caused by frictional heat is minimized, making this system ideal for deburring electronic components and plastic products. In addition, even workpieces with oil contamination can be processed directly without prior degreasing, resulting in significant reductions in processing steps and labor.
※ For customized models, load capacity and product size can be adjusted. Please feel free to contact us for details.
[Advanced] Beyond Deburring: A Proposal for “Surface Modification”
Deburring and rust removal using manual blasting machines are only the entry point to high–value-added manufacturing. At FUJI BLASTECH (THAILAND), we also propose stepping up to more advanced surface modification technologies.
Mirror Finishing & Micro-Deburring (Sirius Z):
By using “Sirius Z (SF Type)” from the manual machine lineup, it is possible to achieve a mirror finish on molds and tools without altering their original geometry. Elastic media gently “rubs” the surface, creating a smooth, uniform finish without polishing unevenness. This contributes to improved mold release performance and extended service life.
Extended Service Life & Improved Fatigue Strength (α Process / WPC Process):
Through fine particle peening technology, the metal surface is nano-crystallized, dramatically improving hardness and fatigue strength. This process can extend the lifespan of molds and cutting tools by several times to more than ten times.
Improved Sliding Performance & Functional Enhancement (Gemini Process):
There are two approaches to reducing frictional resistance and improving sliding performance.
Gemini Process (Coating-Free): By forming ultra-fine dimples (micro-textured surfaces), the actual contact area is reduced, resulting in lower friction. Since no lubricants or coatings are used, this process is ideal for preventing powder adhesion in applications such as hoppers in food and pharmaceutical factories.
