An overload protection device instantly disconnects input and output during an overload, thereby protecting the machinery. It reliably detects overload, separates input and output by disengaging the drive key from the groove, and automatically re-engages at the same torque and indexing position once the overload is removed. Torque setting is performed using an internally built-in torque spring, eliminating troublesome fine-tuning. Furthermore, it also functions as a flexible coupling and can be used for both shaft-to-shaft and wrap-around applications. Moreover, because power transmission is via a drive key, it can be used in oil without issues.
