Representative methods include solvent degreasing using organic solvents, alkaline degreasing using alkaline aqueous solutions, electrolytic degreasing combined with electrolysis, and aqueous degreasing using water-based detergents. These methods are appropriately selected based on the material of the workpiece, the type of oil, and the required quality of subsequent processes, and the cleaning effect can sometimes be enhanced by combining them with ultrasonic cleaning or similar techniques.
