About Aluminum
Hard anodizing is an electrolytic treatment that forms a thick, hard oxide film on the surface of aluminum and its alloys using low temperature and high current density in a sulfuric acid bath. Compared to regular anodizing, the film thickness is greater, ranging from 20μm to over 100μm, and it possesses very high hardness with a Vickers hardness of HV300-500 and excellent wear resistance. Additionally, high corrosion resistance and electrical insulation are also characteristic features. As a typical processing method, after electrolysis in a sulfuric acid bath, a sealing treatment is applied to improve corrosion resistance. It is widely applied to industrial machine parts such as sliding parts, mold components, jigs, aircraft parts, and hydraulic equipment, where high durability and wear resistance are required.
