About Chromium (rack)
Rack chrome plating is a chrome plating method performed by fixing products to a jig (rack) and immersing them in a plating bath. Because it can process complex shapes, large parts, and numerous parts at once, it is adopted in a wide range of fields such as automotive parts, home appliances, and building materials. Its main purposes are to improve the decorative appearance of products and to impart corrosion resistance and wear resistance. Generally, decorative chrome plating is applied after base nickel plating to enhance gloss and durability. Furthermore, hard chrome plating, with its excellent hardness and lubricity, contributes to improving the durability of molds and machine parts. While it is easy to obtain a uniform film thickness, a characteristic drawback is the effort required for jig design and the attachment/detachment of products.
