Sube-Up®

“Sube-Up®” is a registered trademark of Hotty Polymer Co., Ltd. In general, polyolefin-based elastomers are materials in which rubber is dispersed within resin, making the surface of extruded parts relatively low in slip. This often leads to a tendency for sticking when used as seal materials or gaskets.
Sube-Up® is an exotic-shape extruded product in which a special low-friction resin is simultaneously co-molded as an ultra-thin film (approximately 15–30 µm). By doing so, it offers the following key features:
Key Features
- Very low friction coefficient (µ), comparable to fluorinated resins
- High wear resistance, exceeding that of nylon in some references
- Excellent moldability: because the coating is ultrathin, it does not significantly affect the base material’s physical properties
- Good hygiene and anti-fouling properties: no plasticizers used, resistant to mold and easy to clean
- Low cost and environmentally friendly: not a secondary coating process, no solvents used, simultaneous molding
- Durability and thermal stability: passes low-temperature (–30 °C) impact tests, minimal changes over time
Typical Applications
- Gaskets, sealing and waterproofing elements in construction (to reduce sliding resistance)
- Improvement of insertion into fittings, prevention of gasket sticking
- Use in automotive parts, electrical/electronic devices, leisure goods
- As “Sube-Up tubes” where the inner surface is coated to improve sliding for cable insertion
- Windows and doors: when used in sealing parts, it is reported that it may help reduce ingress of fine particulates (PM2.5)
