【Semiconductor Equipment and Server Parts】Machining Various Precision Parts in Thailand
KYOWA NT (THAILAND) CO., LTD. provides contract machining of precision parts for semiconductor manufacturing equipment and server-related applications in Ayutthaya Province, Thailand.
We also handle high-mix, high-precision parts and determine machining methods based on part shape, material, quantity, required accuracy, and inspection conditions. Drawing on process control and quality control developed through mass production of automotive parts, we work to establish stable production processes.
For parts currently procured from Japan or other countries, we also propose machining and procurement methods within Thailand based on existing drawings and specifications.

■ Machining of semiconductor manufacturing equipment and server-related parts
KYOWA NT (THAILAND) provides contract machining of precision parts used in semiconductor manufacturing equipment and server-related applications, including round parts and parts requiring machining of holes, threads, grooves, multiple surfaces, and other features. We handle materials including aluminum, SUS, and titanium, as well as high-mix and high-precision parts.
For semiconductor manufacturing equipment and server-related applications, part shapes and required specifications vary depending on the product type. Therefore, instead of applying the same machining method used for mass-produced parts uniformly, we establish machining processes suited to each workpiece.
■ Machining methods for high-mix, high-precision parts
For new parts, we review the part shape, material, quantity, required accuracy, inspection conditions, and other requirements, and design the equipment to be used and the process sequence.
Rather than considering the machining method using only one type of equipment, we also examine process division and the use of jigs and tools, such as combining an NC lathe with a machining center when necessary.
For parts requiring high precision, we review not only the machining method but also the tolerances specified on the drawing and the inspection conditions, and establish the production method including where quality should be checked within the process.
■ Process control and quality control developed through automotive parts production
Through mass production of automotive parts, we have developed process control and quality control methods for maintaining continuous and stable production. Rather than checking only finished products after machining, we place importance on stabilizing the machining process itself.
At the factory, in addition to manufacturing functions such as production control, machining, engineering, and equipment maintenance, the quality assurance department is responsible for incoming inspection, in-process inspection, shipping inspection, calibration・MSA, and inspection. We are also certified to IATF 16949:2016 and ISO 9001:2015.
The approach developed through mass production — “define the process, establish control points, and stabilize it” — is also applied to parts for semiconductor manufacturing equipment and server-related applications.
■ Productivity and cost improvements through process division
Reducing the number of processes does not necessarily mean that the machining method is always the most suitable.
For example, in the machining of a certain ferrous material, the cycle time was 1,200 seconds when processed in a single operation on a 7-axis machine. By dividing the work into four processes combining an NC lathe and a machining center, the cycle time was reduced to 520 seconds.
By reorganizing the equipment configuration and processes according to the conditions of the part, we shorten cycle time and connect this to improved productivity and lower-cost production.
■ Localization in Thailand of parts procured from overseas
For precision parts currently imported into Thailand from Japan or other countries, you can also consult us about switching to machining and procurement within Thailand. When considering localization, it is important to compare not only the machining unit cost, but also lead time including transportation, order quantities, delivery conditions, exchange rates, and other factors.
We review existing drawings and specifications and consider not only reproducing the current machining method in Thailand, but also reorganizing the processes to suit the equipment and production conditions at our Thailand factory.
We organize the machining equipment, process sequence, required jigs and tools, and inspection methods, and propose a method that allows continued production and procurement within Thailand.
