Sodium hypochlorite is diluted to a concentration of 40-200 ppm, carbon dioxide gas is injected, and the pH is controlled to 6. Sodium hypochlorite at pH 6 has strong bactericidal power, and this is a device that produces this carbonated hypochlorous acid water. The bactericidal power of sodium hypochlorite changes depending on its pH value. Normally, when sodium hypochlorite is simply diluted to 200 ppm with water, it exists at around pH 9. By injecting carbon dioxide gas into it and lowering the pH, it becomes around pH 6 and possesses strong bactericidal power. If the pH is lowered further, chlorine gas will be generated, but due to the buffering effect of carbon dioxide gas, the pH will not drop below 5. Therefore, it can be used safely and securely.
