Econan'nen Eco-Friendly Flame-Retardant Elastomer

Ekonannen® is an environmentally friendly, extruded flexible sealing material capable of unprecedented low hardness, which also clears V-0 in the UL flame retardancy test, an international flame retardancy standard. Previously, the flame retardancy of thermoplastic elastomers was predominantly found in materials with a hardness of 80° or higher, and even below 80°, they remained at the V-1 level. Furthermore, conventional inorganic flame retardants such as magnesium hydroxide require a high content ratio to achieve flame retardancy (making it difficult to impart flame retardancy). To achieve a V-0 flame retardancy level, the raw material ratio of the material itself must be 50% or more, which makes the material hard and brittle, rendering it unsuitable for molding. Ekonannen resolves these issues, and with environmental measures and flame retardancy standards becoming stricter in recent years, it is ideal as a sealing material, packing, and gasket for electronics-related applications.
