NDK Seal Washers are innovative gaskets designed to prevent leakage from screw tightening parts, serving as a superior replacement for conventional liquid packing and copper washers. Key features include excellent leak prevention, high resistance to oil, heat, and weather, achieved through specially compounded synthetic rubber (NBR, FKM, and EPDM for water-only applications) and metal cores (SPC-C, SUS304). These washers boast reusability for 2-3 times, facilitated by a "Step type Core" design that enhances rubber-to-metal adhesion, and offer easy installation with no front/reverse distinction, preventing slip-down. They also allow for rougher finishing precision on contacting counter faces compared to copper washers. Technical specifications detail various types: Standard Type I (W), Standard Type II (WS1) (space-saving), and a Special Type for use with nuts (WCS). These types are available for nominal dimensions from M2.6 to M48, with specific bore diameters, outer diameters, and thicknesses. Operating conditions include applicable temperatures (e.g., 50-150°C for normal types, up to 250°C for high-temp/chemical types) and pressures (up to 90 MPa for static use, 0.4 times for variable pressure), which vary by washer type and size. Installation requires specific bore chamfering (C0.2) and a counter surface finish of 10µmRz (JIS B 0601). Clamping torque varies by washer type, bolt, lubrication, and speed, with recommendations to use 80% or more of the maximum specified torque. The WCS type is exclusively for standard thread pitch bolts. Users are advised to verify performance under specific operating conditions (oil, environment, installation state) and to store washers away from direct sunlight and high temperatures.
