Positive Inserts_Catalog
Mitsubishi Materials' Positive Inserts are an environmentally friendly turning tool series, certified by the Japan Cutting & Wear-resistant Tool Association, specifically engineered as an ideal partner for machining small parts. A core innovation is the FSF/FSF-P chipbreaker, meticulously designed for hard-to-cut materials. It features a sharp cutting edge with a steep 25° rake angle, ensuring excellent component surface finishes, and a low-resistance design achieved through gradual chipbreaker protrusion. The multi-stage chipbreaker is ideal for accommodating fluctuations in the depth of cut, while the FSF-P variant boasts a polished finish on the insert surface, significantly improving welding resistance. These inserts deliver superior dimensional stability and remarkably reduce burrs, as evidenced by an Rz value of 0.14 μm with the MS9025 grade, a substantial improvement over conventional tools (Rz=0.61 μm). Practical applications, such as SUS304 external turning, demonstrate a significant extension in tool life, achieving 750 pieces compared to 150 with conventional products. The comprehensive product lineup includes a wide array of chipbreakers categorized for finish, light, and medium cutting, each precisely tailored for specific materials and cutting conditions. For instance, FP/FM chipbreakers are recommended for general finishing of carbon and stainless steels, while FV/FJ are suited for low depth-of-cut and low feed rate applications. The AZ chipbreaker, with its high rake angle and 3D curved cutting edge, is optimized for aluminum alloys, and LP/LM/LK/LS/LS-P series offer sharp edges and excellent chip control for light cutting. For medium cutting, MP/MM/MK/MS/MV/MW chipbreakers provide a balanced combination of wear and fracture resistance. Available in various geometries like 80° CC, 55° DC, 60° TB/TC/TP, and 35° VB/VC/VP, these inserts are offered in a broad selection of advanced coated carbide, cermet, and uncoated carbide grades, including MS9025, MP9025, VP30RT, and MC6115. This extensive range ensures optimal performance for stable, general, and even unstable cutting scenarios across diverse material groups, with detailed technical specifications for recommended feed rates (e.g., 0.02-0.1 mm/rev for FSF/FSF-P) and depths of cut (e.g., 0.02-1.0 mm for FSF/FSF-P) provided for each chipbreaker and material combination.
