These couplings are available in AL models, offering a wide nominal torque range from 0.5 N-m (AL-035) up to 50 N-m (AL-110), with corresponding maximum torques reaching 150 N-m. They are capable of operating at maximum rotation speeds of up to 18000 min⁻¹ and within an operating temperature range of -20 to 80 °C. Technically, SPRFLEX couplings are designed to manage various misalignments, including parallel (0.1-0.3 mm), angular (0.5-1.0°), and axial (±0.3-±0.7 mm). While they exhibit backlash, careful attention to mounting and alignment is crucial; it is recommended to keep actual misalignments below 50% of these maximums, especially at higher speeds (above 2000 min⁻¹), and dynamic balance should be considered above 3600 min⁻¹. Key applications include induction motors, pumps, fans, and textile machinery. Proper selection involves a detailed procedure: first, calculating the applied torque (Ta) from power and speed, then determining a corrected torque (Td) by applying service factors (K1-K4) that account for load properties (constant, vibrations), operating time (up to 24 hrs/day), start/stop frequency (up to 240 times/hr), and operating temperature. The chosen coupling's nominal torque (Tn) must be greater than or equal to Td, and its maximum torque (Tm) must exceed the motor's peak torque (Ts). Furthermore, careful consideration of the mounting shaft diameter, bore diameter (4-48mm), and precise centering is crucial for optimal performance and extended service life, with specific tightening torques for set screws (e.g., M3: 0.7 N-m, M10: 28.0 N-m) also specified.
