Tungaloy's TUNGSIX-DRILL is an economical indexable drill featuring the world's first double-sided inserts with six cutting edges, significantly reducing insert consumption and offering superior performance. A single insert type serves both central and peripheral pockets, and optimal spacing between cutting edges prevents damage overlap. It achieves low cutting forces comparable to positive single-sided inserts, boosting productivity even at high feed rates. The drill incorporates new grades like AH9030, AH6030, and AH3135, utilizing advanced PVD coatings and unique substrates for enhanced wear, fracture, and oxidation resistance across various materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and superalloys. The central insert's obtuse angle relief design improves corner strength and reliability. Two chipbreaker types are available: DJ for general purpose with excellent chip control and tool life, and DS for superior chip control in stainless and gummy steels. The system prevents incorrect insert clamping, and optional EZ sleeves allow precise adjustment of hole diameter and cutting edge height. The TDXCF chamfering ring series enables simultaneous drilling and chamfering, reducing machining time. Practical examples demonstrate significantly extended tool life (1.5 to 3 times) and increased productivity (120%) compared to competitors, ensuring stable, chatter-free machining.
