■ Technical Merits and Features of High-Performance Plastic Machining at Technoplast (Thailand) Co., Ltd.
Dimensional Stability through In-house Annealing Process
In the machining of high-performance resins, particularly PEEK, parts are susceptible to warping or deformation during or after cutting. This issue is caused by the release of residual internal stress or frictional heat generated during the machining process, which can prevent dimensions from meeting specified engineering tolerances.
Technoplast is equipped with an ESPEC annealing oven at its own factory in Thailand. The oven has an internal chamber size of 600 × 600 × 600 mm and supports temperatures of up to 300°C.By applying heat treatment before and after machining according to the properties of each target resin, we reduce residual stress inside the material and help minimize warpage and dimensional changes. This improves the dimensional stability of the finished products and helps reduce issues such as dimensional nonconformities during assembly processes and the need for on-site readjustment.
Cost Optimization via Smart Material Substitution Proposals
For parts used in automated equipment or elevated temperature environments, technical drawings often specify PEEK as the default material. However, PEEK can cost approximately 20 times more than MC Nylon, increasing the total cost of part procurement.
Technoplast (Thailand) Co., Ltd. analyzes actual operational conditions. If the required temperature threshold is within 200°C, we propose substituting PEEK with PPS, which costs approximately 5 times the price of MC Nylon. By avoiding over-specification while satisfying technical requirements, we help optimize material costs.
Japanese Quality Management Standards and Local Inspection in Chonburi
Procuring high-precision plastic machined parts locally in Thailand often raises concerns about the reliability of dimensional control and testing systems.
Technoplast (Thailand) Co., Ltd. operates under the quality control criteria inherited from our Japanese headquarters, which possesses over 55 years of plastic machining experience. Our Chonburi factory is equipped with a 3D Measuring Machine (CMM) and an Optical Measurement System to monitor part dimensions. By implementing Japanese management standards in local production and inspections, we prevent defective parts from being released, eliminating the logistics costs and lead times associated with shipping parts back to Japan for corrections.
■ Supported Materials and Production Specifications
When procuring precision resin machined parts, some customers may find dimensional control and inspection systems to be a challenge. However, our company has a sufficient management system in place and can handle these requirements without issue.
Technoplast incorporates the management standards of its Japanese headquarters, which has been engaged in resin processing in Japan for more than 55 years. At our Chonburi factory, we are equipped with coordinate measuring machines (CMM) and image measuring machine systems to strictly verify dimensions after machining.
By establishing a manufacturing and inspection system based on Japanese standards in Thailand, we help prevent the release of defective products and contribute to reducing the time and cost required for on-site readjustment.
Supported Materials
- PEEK (Polyether Ether Ketone): A high-performance engineering plastic with heat resistance, chemical resistance, and high mechanical strength.
- PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene): This is a resin generally known as a fluorine-based material. For the processing characteristics specific to fluororesins, we utilize the expertise of our Japanese headquarters and perform machining under appropriate cutting conditions and control methods.
- POM (Polyoxymethylene)
- MC Nylon
- Bakelite
- Epoxy Glass Experience handling more than 20 types of materials.

■ Processing Workflow and Technical Consultation
- Ask the customer for detailed information and confirm conditions such as heat resistance temperature, whether there is contact with chemicals, the sliding environment, and the operating load.
- If the material specified in the drawing is determined to be over-specified for the actual operating conditions, we will propose an alternative engineering plastic material. We will consider reducing material costs while meeting the required performance.
- Annealing Thermal Treatment: To prevent warpage, we perform annealing using our ESPEC oven before the raw materials are machined.
- Cutting and Milling: Precision machining is conducted using CNC lathes and machining centers from a single prototype without requiring molds.
- Inspection and Delivery: Part dimensions are checked via CMM or optical scanning systems to verify they meet drawing tolerances prior to shipment.

■ Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q1 : Is it possible to consult on Teflon (PTFE) machining at the Thailand factory?
A1 : Yes, we can support this. Our Japanese headquarters has extensive experience in Teflon processing. We utilize the technical knowledge and processing know-how of our Japanese headquarters to propose processing that meets the technical requirements.
Q2 : What specific cost reduction proposals do you offer for PEEK components?
A2 : If your operating temperature is around 200°C, we can propose substituting PEEK (which costs approximately 20 times the price of MC Nylon) with PPS (approximately 5 times the price of MC Nylon). Aligning the material choice with actual operating requirements prevents unnecessary raw material expenses.
Q3 : How do you prevent dimensional changes or warpage in plastic parts after machining?
A3 : We have an ESPEC annealing oven (maximum temperature: 300°C, internal size: 600 x 600 x 600 mm) at our Chonburi factory. We perform thermal annealing appropriate for each material during the process to relieve residual internal stress, which stabilizes dimensions and prevents warpage over time.
