Yokohama Rubber Expands High-Pressure Hydraulic Hose Production in China to Meet Recovering Construction Machinery Demand

The Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd. announced an expansion
of production capacity for high-pressure hydraulic hoses at its subsidiary,
Yokohama Industrial Products–Hangzhou, located in Hangzhou, China. The company
plans to invest approximately RMB 76 million to meet rising demand in
the construction machinery market.

The expansion will focus on increasing production lines for spiral
wire hoses, which are primarily used in hydraulic excavators and cranes.
Production capacity is scheduled to be expanded in stages, reaching nearly three
times the current level by September 2022, in response to the rapid
recovery of China’s construction machinery market in both OEM and replacement
segments.

This project forms part of Yokohama Rubber’s YX2023
medium-term management plan, under which the company is strengthening its hose
and couplings business to enhance competitiveness and expand its presence
in the global hydraulic hose market.
