The SIRIUS Series was created through the fusion of Fuji Manufacturing’s proprietary blasting technology with a new elastic media designed for continuous operation.

Moving Beyond Craftsmanship to Achieve Uniform Quality

The system addresses challenges such as the shortage of skilled craftsmen and variations in polishing quality depending on the operator. Through robotic automation, it eliminates missed burrs and inconsistent finishes, delivering uniform quality and stable productivity that do not rely on individual skills.

Compatible with Complex Shapes and a Wide Range of Materials

There are virtually no limitations on the weight, size, or shape of workpieces, allowing even complex 3D geometries to be processed uniformly. In addition to steel materials, the system can polish a wide variety of materials, including cemented carbide, ceramics, and acrylic resins.

Pinpoint Processing with Minimal Damage

The system adopts an easy-to-handle nozzle method, enabling processing only where needed. This allows polishing with minimal shape change or deformation. By utilizing airflow-based jet processing, it can smoothly and evenly finish fine grooves, inner diameters, and corner areas that are difficult to reach with manual work.

■ Why Can It “Polish”? The Secret Lies in the “Rubbing” Elastic Media

While conventional blasting “cuts” the surface, SIRIUS processing is based on “rubbing.”

The media used in SIRIUS features a core body made of elastic material. When it strikes the workpiece, it deforms to follow the surface geometry. At the same time, because it has low-rebound characteristics, the media does not bounce away after impact. Instead, it slides along the surface over a relatively long distance while rubbing it.

This unique rubbing action gently removes surface irregularities, achieving a uniform, smooth finish without aggressive material removal.

■ Two Media Management Systems That Maintain Polishing Quality

The SIRIUS Series offers two types of media systems, selectable according to processing objectives.

1. SIRIUS-Z (Automatic Regeneration / Abrasive-Bonded Type)

For mass production, automation, and high-precision processing

This high-end model uses SIRIUS-Z media, in which abrasive grains are bonded to the surface of the core particles. Its greatest feature is the built-in automatic media regeneration mechanism.

• Stable quality through automatic media regeneration: The system is equipped with an in-line automatic media regeneration mechanism inside the machine, allowing the media to be regenerated automatically even during operation. This eliminates the need for manual media replacement or regeneration and ensures consistently stable polishing quality at all times.

• Use of special materials: The core of the SIRIUS-Z media adopts a special high-polymer material, “SLIDE-RING MATERIAL®,” jointly developed with ASM Co., Ltd. (registered trademark of ASM Co., Ltd.).

• Main applications: Removal of droplets on cutting tools (drills and end mills), mold maintenance, and fine deburring of precision components.

2. SIRIUS (No Regeneration Required / Abrasive-Embedded Type)

For high-mix, low-volume production and easy implementation

This standard model uses SIRIUS media, in which abrasive grains are embedded (mixed) within an elastic body.

• Easy management with no regeneration required: Even as the core material wears down, the abrasive grains embedded inside continuously appear on the surface thanks to its special structure. As a result, polishing performance remains stable. The system uses a top-up method, eliminating the need for usage-time management, media replacement, or regeneration. Since no advanced regeneration mechanism is required, it is easy to introduce, and daily management is simplified to simply replenishing the amount that has been consumed.

• Main applications: General mold cleaning, rust removal from parts, and fine deburring.

3. Pollux (Dedicated Finishing System for 3D-Printed Parts)

For layer-line removal, mirror finishing, and office-friendly installation

Pollux is a compact model developed specifically for finishing 3D-printed parts, based on the core technology of SIRIUS-Z.

• A fusion of design and functionality: Featuring a stylish design suitable for offices and laboratories, Pollux adopts a space-saving, all-in-one structure that integrates the cabinet and dust collector into a single unit.

• Solving challenges unique to additively manufactured parts: Regardless of whether the material is metal or resin, Pollux quickly removes and smooths layer steps (layer lines) unique to 3D-printed parts without changing dimensions. It can also achieve transparency (visual clarity) in resin parts. By using the same media as SIRIUS-Z, Pollux delivers stable and consistent finishing performance.
