DHIE Welding and Automation Solutions
DHIE designs and manufactures automated welding and assembly equipment, mainly for automotive body and automotive parts production.
Systems can be configured from welding stations using one or two robots to fully automated welding lines using dozens of robots, depending on the required production capacity, workpiece, and factory layout.
In addition to supplying individual machines, DHIE can design complete production systems covering welding processes, robot layout, fixtures, material handling, and control systems.
Supported Welding and Automation Processes
DHIE can build automation systems that combine multiple manufacturing processes.
- Spot Welding
Supports spot welding for automotive bodies, floor panels, pillars, longitudinal beams, reinforcement parts, and other components.
In addition to robotic welding lines, welding stations using one or two robots and manual welding lines can also be designed.
- Arc Welding
Supports robotic arc welding for subframes, seat frames, exhaust components, and other parts.
Robots, welding fixtures, and transfer equipment are combined according to workpiece geometry, weld locations, and required production takt time.
- Adhesive / Sealer Application and Hemming
Supports automatic application of adhesives and sealers, as well as hemming processes for doors, hoods, and similar components.
These processes can also be integrated with welding operations into a single automated production line.
- Peripheral Automation Processes
In addition to welding, systems can incorporate press-fitting, punching, riveting, stud welding, projection welding, conveying, and other processes.
Multiple processes can be integrated into one line according to the required manufacturing sequence.
Design, Simulation, and Control Technologies
- 3D Design and Simulation
3D design and mechanical simulation are used to evaluate robot layout, fixtures, workpiece transfer, and potential equipment interference in advance.
Offline programming is also supported, allowing robot movements and equipment configuration to be reviewed before the actual system is manufactured.
- Mechanical and Electrical Design
CATIA, AutoCAD, and related software are used for mechanical design, while EPLAN is used for electrical design.
PLC, robot, and welding equipment manufacturers can be selected according to the customer’s factory standards and existing equipment.
Equipment | Main Supported Manufacturers |
Industrial Robots | KUKA, FANUC, Nachi, Yaskawa, ABB, Kawasaki, Panasonic, OTC |
Welding Equipment | Obara, Denyo, Centerline, OTC, Yaskawa, Panasonic |
PLC | Mitsubishi, Siemens, Omron, AB |
Equipment is selected according to system specifications and the customer’s factory standards.
