MP Versatile Dispensing Pump / Adjustable Dispensing Amount with a 0–16 mm Stroke Stopper / Easy Dispensing Setup for Manual and Automated Applications
When dispensing small amounts of grease or oil, variations in the amount delivered each cycle can affect process quality and make control more difficult.
KOGANEI (THAILAND) CO., LTD. offers the MP Versatile Dispensing Pump, designed to dispense grease or oil in consistent amounts while allowing the dispensing volume to be adjusted directly on the unit.
The MP uses compressed air to feed material from a syringe into the pump, then dispenses the material by pressing the rod. It can be operated manually or integrated with an air cylinder or electric slider, making it suitable for grease application, drop dispensing, and machinery that requires repeatable dispensing volumes.

Key Features of the MP Versatile Dispensing Pump
The MP combines dispensing and volume adjustment functions in a single compact unit, helping simplify grease and oil dispensing applications.

- Consistent dispensing volume: The valve and piston structure helps maintain repeatable dispensing amounts
- Volume adjustment directly on the unit: A stroke stopper allows the rod travel to be set within a range of 0–16 mm
- Compatible with grease and oil: Select the appropriate model according to the material type and viscosity
The dispensing amount can be adjusted by changing the position of the stroke stopper on the pump body. This eliminates the need for a separate flow control device for basic dispensing volume adjustment.
The unit measures 83 × 14 × 32 mm and weighs approximately 135 g, making it easy to integrate into workstations or machinery without significantly increasing system size.
Operating Principle and Dispensing Volume Adjustment
The MP combines compressed air with rod movement to switch between material filling and dispensing.

- Feed material into the pump: Compressed air is supplied to the syringe, pushing grease or oil into the rod side of the pump
- Press the rod to dispense: The internal valve changes position and pushes the material out through the dispensing port
- Release the rod to refill: The rod returns to its original position and the pump is refilled for the next cycle
Before using the pump for the first time, all air inside the pump must be removed.
Supply air to the syringe, then press the rod until the material flows continuously from both the air bleed port and the dispensing outlet.
The dispensing amount can be adjusted using the stroke stopper. Loosen the fixing screw, move the stopper to the desired position, and tighten it again. The adjustable stroke range is 0–16 mm.
This design allows users to set the dispensing amount according to the application, from very small grease deposits to larger volumes per cycle.
Selecting MP010 or MP250 for Your Application
The MP Series is available in two main models. They differ in maximum dispensing volume, supported grease consistency, and required rod pressing force.
Item | MP010 | MP250 |
Body Size | 83 × 14 × 32 mm | 83 × 14 × 32 mm |
Applicable Material | Grease or oil | Grease or oil |
Supported Grease Consistency | NLGI No.0–2 | NLGI No.0–3 |
Rod Stroke Adjustment Range | 0–16 mm | 0–16 mm |
Maximum Dispensing Volume | 0.014 mL | 0.307 mL |
Dispensing Volume Tolerance | ±0.002 mL | ±0.003 mL |
Operating Pressure Range | 0.1–0.5 MPa | 0.1–0.5 MPa |
Reference Rod Pressing Force | 4.2 N | 13.3 N |
Ambient Temperature | 5–60°C | 5–60°C |
Weight | 135.2 g | 135.5 g |
- MP010: Suitable for micro-dispensing applications, with a maximum dispensing volume of 0.014 mL
- MP250: Supports up to 0.307 mL and grease up to NLGI No.3
- Select according to material and required volume: Grease viscosity, nozzle type, and actual operating conditions should also be considered
The maximum dispensing volume may vary depending on the material being used and the shape of the dispensing nozzle.
The rod pressing force values are reference values measured using grease at a supply pressure of 0.5 MPa with a 2 mm diameter dispensing outlet.
The wetted materials of the MP010 are SUS303 and NBR. The MP250 is available with SUS303 and NBR, with an FKM option also available. The FKM option is not available for the MP010.

Suitable for Both Manual and Automated Operation
The MP allows the rod operating method to be selected according to the process, from manual operation to automated machinery.

- Direct manual operation: Suitable for testing, assembly work, and processes controlled by an operator
- Can be used with an air cylinder: A rod pressing mechanism can be incorporated for repeated operation according to the machine cycle
- Compatible with electric sliders: An electric mechanism can be used to press the rod in systems that require controlled motion
When using an air cylinder or another mechanism to press the rod, the pressing force should be aligned with the center of the rod.
Off-center force may prevent the rod from returning correctly or may cause damage.
When operating the rod using a mechanism other than manual pressing, the operating conditions should be checked in advance. Excessive force or unsuitable operating conditions may affect the internal valve section.
Thanks to this flexibility, the MP can first be introduced into a manual process and later integrated into an automated system as production requirements become more standardized and repetitive.
Installation and Important Considerations Before Use
Proper preparation of the material, air supply, and air bleeding process helps ensure stable dispensing performance from the start.
- Use clean, dry compressed air: Install an air filter rated at 40 μm or finer close to the pump or valve
- Bleed air before operation: Remove all air from inside the pump until the material flows continuously from the dispensing outlet
- Prepare the syringe and dispensing nozzle: Both should be selected by the user according to the material being dispensed
The syringe connection supports an ISO 594-2 compatible luer-lock connection.
The dispensing port uses an M5 × 0.8 thread with a depth of 5 mm. Check the dispensing nozzle or fitting specifications before installation.
Before connecting the system, thoroughly flush the inside of the piping to remove metal particles, sealing tape, rust, and other contaminants.
Contamination entering the syringe or pump may affect the dispensed material, cause leakage, or lead to abnormal operation.
If you plan to use a different material or operating conditions outside the specified range, confirm the compatibility of the material, seal materials, and operating environment before selecting the product.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What materials can the MP dispense?
A: The MP supports grease and oil. The MP010 supports grease from NLGI No.0 to 2, while the MP250 supports NLGI No.0 to 3. However, some materials may not be suitable, so compatibility should be checked before actual use.
Q: What is the difference between the MP010 and MP250?
A: The main difference is the maximum dispensing volume. The MP010 dispenses up to 0.014 mL, while the MP250 dispenses up to 0.307 mL. The MP250 also supports a wider grease consistency range.
Q: Can the MP be integrated into an automated system?
A: Yes. It can be used with an air cylinder or electric slider to press the rod. However, the pressing force must be aligned with the center of the rod, and the operating conditions should be checked carefully before use.
