Siam Asahi Manufacturing Co.,Ltd. (SAM), a subsidiary of Japan's Asahi Tekko Co.,Ltd., is a Tier 1 supplier specializing in the manufacturing of automotive parts, primarily for TOYOTA MOTOR and AISIN. Located in Amata City Rayong, Thailand, the company focuses on producing high-quality manual transmission components. SAM's product portfolio includes a diverse range of aluminum and steel parts for manual transmissions, such as TV2, RC60, C550, T351-1, R150, C50 (aluminum), and Head, Stopper, Housing, Fork Reverse, D392, Transfer, T351-2 (steel). The manufacturing process incorporates advanced techniques including aluminum die casting with Shibaura DC 350J-MS machines, precision machining utilizing KIRA, FANUC Robodrill, NISSIN, KIWA, mectron, and OKUMA machines, resin injection with FANUC ROBOSHOT, induction hardening, and resin ultrasonic welding. Quality control is rigorously maintained using sophisticated measuring equipment like XYZAX AXCEL 3D Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), Accretech Roughness Testing Machines, and Mitutoyo Contour and Surface Testing Systems. In addition to manufacturing, SAM provides "iXacs," a proprietary IoT monitoring system for production lines, launched in Thailand in June 2022. iXacs is designed to reduce labor costs, optimize machinery investment, and enhance overall production efficiency by offering real-time data visualization of production volume, stop times (loss times), and cycle times (CT). The system's architecture involves sensors (wired 1:1, wireless 30:1), transmitters, Wi-Fi/SIM receivers, an AWS-secured cloud platform, and dashboard access via tablets or smartphones. Installation is efficient, typically completed within an hour, using magnet, light, or PLC I/O sensors. iXacs offers comprehensive services including IoT installation, data analysis, and web-based advice (Kaizen as a Service), alongside human resource development in IoT data utilization, facilitating rapid problem identification and continuous improvement (Kaizen).
