Pure Water System Rental That Significantly Reduces Initial Investment and Eliminates Customer-Side Maintenance

Installing a large-scale pure water system to maintain stable rinse-water quality in plating or painting lines may require a substantial initial capital investment. In addition, regenerating resin in-house places a significant burden on manufacturing operations due to the need for chemical management, wastewater treatment, and equipment maintenance.

FUTABA IS CO., LTD. provides stainless-steel towers filled with high-quality ion exchange resin on a monthly rental basis. The system can be put into operation simply by connecting it to the required piping, allowing customers to use high-purity water while avoiding investment in large-scale equipment.

When the reading on the water quality meter or conductivity meter reaches the specified limit, we collect the entire used tower and replace it with a clean tower that has already undergone regeneration.

This tower replacement system eliminates the need to use hazardous regeneration chemicals, such as caustic soda or hydrochloric acid, within the customer’s factory. It also prevents the generation of wastewater and sludge associated with on-site regeneration, reducing the burden of safety management and waste disposal.

Ultrapure Water Quality and Highly Durable Resin That Help Reduce Product Defects

In automotive parts plating and painting processes, as well as in electronic component manufacturing, impurities in rinse water—such as calcium and silica—may cause appearance defects, including drying stains and water spots. They may also contribute to inconsistencies in product quality.

Maintaining stable ultrapure water quality in the final rinsing process is therefore essential.

FUTABA IS CO., LTD. uses high-quality ion exchange resin developed using the technology and expertise of Nippon Denko , an ion exchange resin manufacturer with more than 60 years of experience.

This enables us to provide a stable supply of high-quality ultrapure water with conductivity of 0.1 μS/cm or less. We also recommend resin configurations that are appropriate for the raw-water conditions found in Thailand.

In an actual customer application, switching to our resin extended the resin replacement cycle by approximately 20%. In addition to improving water quality, the longer replacement cycle helped reduce the frequency of tower replacement and the customer’s operational workload.

• Rather than modifying the water quality of the entire factory system, the tower can be retrofitted to a specific tank that requires improved water quality, such as a final rinse tank. This enables localized purification of only the required process or tank.

This point-of-use solution has been adopted by many surface-treatment factories as an effective measure for targeted quality improvement.

Temporary Capacity Expansion

• Rental services are also available when adding production lines or temporarily increasing production volume. The towers can also supplement existing pure water systems when their treatment capacity is insufficient.

Process from Initial Consultation to Installation and Operation

1. Water Quality Assessment and Consultation
   We confirm the customer’s intended application and required water quality. When necessary, we also inspect the raw-water quality, conductivity, and other relevant conditions.
   
   
2. Recommendation of the Most Suitable Tower
   Based on the required treatment volume, target water quality, and available installation space, we recommend the most suitable option from Models 40, 150, and 350.
   
   We also review how the tower will be connected to the customer’s existing equipment and explain the proposed installation method.
   
   
3. Installation and Start-Up
   Our staff deliver the tower to the customer’s site, connect it to the system, and conduct a trial operation.
   
   Provided that the necessary site conditions are ready, the customer can begin using pure water on the same day.
   
   
4. Water Quality Monitoring and Tower Replacement
   Customers monitor water quality using a conductivity meter and contact us when the tower reaches its replacement point.
   
   We deliver a regenerated tower and replace the used tower at the customer’s site. By repeating this process, customers can maintain a continuous and stable supply of high-purity water.
   
   Customers are not required to regenerate the resin or dispose of waste liquid themselves.

The system can be used for targeted water quality improvement in a specific tank, during prototype production, or temporarily during periods of increased production when the existing pure water system does not have sufficient treatment capacity.

Q: Can the tower be retrofitted to our existing pure water system?
