Total Support for Collaborative Robot Implementation in Thailand — Proposing “Automation That Works on the Shop Floor,” Including FAIRINO × Robot Bases and Jigs

Against the backdrop of labor shortages and rising personnel costs, interest in automation and labor-saving solutions at production sites is increasing across Thailand’s manufacturing industry. In particular, collaborative robots that can operate in the same space as workers have attracted growing attention in recent years, with adoption expanding across various applications such as material handling, assembly, and inspection processes.
Against this backdrop, Nagai Giken Thailand, which provides integrated support from the design and manufacturing of equipment and jigs through installation, has partnered with optical equipment manufacturer Shodensha (Thailand) to step up support for the introduction of collaborative robots and related equipment. Rather than simply supplying robots, the initiative focuses on implementing them in a “ready-to-use on the shop floor” form, including robot bases, jigs, and safety measures.

■　Collaborative Robot “FAIRINO,” Newly Handled by Shodensha in Thailand

Starting in January 2026, Shodensha began sales as an authorized sales partner in Thailand for the “FAIRINO” collaborative robot from Chinese manufacturer Fair Innovation (Suzhou) Robot System. FAIRINO is a robot manufacturer that develops its key components in-house and offers a broad range of payload models from 3 kg to 30 kg.

Its key features are an accessible price range, intuitive operation through direct teaching, and the fact that Shodensha can provide maintenance and service support within Thailand. Shodensha has also completed training in China and has established a system capable of providing everything from parts supply to training.

■　Nagai Giken’s Role in Supporting Robot Implementation as an “Entire Equipment System”

At actual production sites, collaborative robots and industrial robots cannot operate on their own, and peripheral equipment such as robot bases, fences, production jigs, and inspection jigs is essential. Nagai Giken is responsible for this field.
The company has extensive experience with robot-related equipment in Japan and has consistently handled everything from design and manufacturing to installation. It is now applying that know-how in Thailand as well, and by combining it with FAIRINO handled by Shodensha, provides automation equipment optimized to meet customer requirements.

■　Collaboration Between the Two Companies Began with Jig Manufacturing

The collaboration between the two companies began with a request from Shodensha to manufacture a lens cover for an endoscope. Amid frequent feedback from the shop floor that the existing cover was “easy to break,” Nagai Giken’s quality and responsiveness were highly evaluated, and the collaboration later expanded to the manufacture of production jigs and inspection jigs. Today, it has developed into a comprehensive partnership that also includes robot equipment.
Mr. Tsuji of Shodensha Thailand evaluates Nagai Giken by saying, “I trust them to get the job done reliably. Above all, President Nagai makes decisions and takes action extremely quickly, which means problems are resolved quickly.”

■　Strengthening Proposal Capabilities through Demo Unit Installation and Joint Exhibition Participation

FAIRINO demo units are scheduled to be installed at three locations: Bangkok, Samut Prakan (Nagai Giken’s Thailand factory), and Amata. By allowing pre-installation verification and hands-on demonstrations using actual equipment, the aim is to reduce concerns before implementation.
In addition, the two companies plan to jointly exhibit at multiple trade shows, including a manufacturing business matching event in May 2026 and Manufacturing Expo in June, and will move forward with concrete automation proposals combining collaborative robots with peripheral equipment.
