Problems Blanca Can Solve

When using stainless steel screws — whether at the design stage or in the field — several recurring problems tend to arise: galling or seizing, insufficient corrosion resistance, and liquid pooling in the screw recess.

Blanca is a surface treatment technology that addresses all of these issues at once, improving the reliability of tightening operations and enhancing overall work efficiency.

Key Features of Blanca

Blanca is a surface treatment that brings together high corrosion resistance, surface hardness, and lubricity in a single technology. It also complies with the RoHS Directive and REACH Regulation. Its four key features are as follows:

1. High Corrosion Resistance Compared to conventional passivation treatment, Blanca offers corrosion resistance that is over 100 times greater. Salt spray test (SST) results show it prevents red rust formation for more than 10,000 hours — performance expected to exceed even SUS316.

2. Galling Prevention and Increased Surface Hardness Through its unique coating technology, Blanca increases surface hardness while maintaining lubricity. This significantly reduces friction during tightening and helps prevent galling/seizing, a common issue with stainless steel screws.

3. Improved Performance of Drill Screws on Stainless Steel Plates Because Blanca creates an extremely hard surface, drill screws made of SUS410 treated with Blanca can drill and fasten directly into stainless steel plates (such as SUS304) up to 2mm thick — without requiring a pilot hole.

4. Improved Workability and Zero Liquid Pooling The increased surface lubricity reduces tightening torque by up to 30%. In addition, because the coating layer is extremely thin and uniform, no liquid accumulates or pools in the recess. This helps prevent cam-out and ensures stable, reliable tightening — making it especially well-suited for automated assembly lines.

Empirical Test Results

Blanca's performance has been verified through Cyclic Corrosion Testing (CCT). XM7 material treated with Blanca showed no red rust even after 105 cycles, compared to passivated XM7, which developed red rust after just 6 cycles, and untreated SUS316, which developed red rust after 42 cycles. These results clearly demonstrate Blanca's significantly superior corrosion resistance.

Supported Products and Service Conditions

After treatment, the appearance and color remain the same natural stainless steel finish. Blanca supports coating for fastening components made of XM7 and SUS410 stainless steel, with service available starting from small-box quantities.
