[SH-3AG] Dual-point Coiling Machine / Wire Diameter φ0.08-0.23 mm / Arbor-less Coiling, Prevents Scratches Inside the Spring

AMADA (THAILAND) CO., LTD. presents advanced solutions to enhance competitiveness in Thailand's medical device manufacturing industry. The SH-3AG is a high-speed, high-quality production system specifically designed for processing guide wires for catheters.

■ Quality Meeting Guide Wire Requirements
The SH-3AG is equipped with a newly developed 2-point coiling unit, which distributes friction during the coiling process and stabilizes the initial tension of the spring. Compared to 1-point coiling systems, this machine does not require an arbor (mandrel), significantly reducing scratches or defects inside the wire. Additionally, the PR-1 Rotary discharge shooter can be installed as an option to support the production of extra-long springs, effectively suppressing vibration and managing workpiece discharge.

■ Automation and Resource Efficiency
This machine supports continuous production with an automatic cut function that activates after the coiling process is complete. Unlike traditional coiling methods, this helps reduce daily labor requirements by approximately 90%. It also improves material yield by eliminating excess waste during production, which helps reduce long-term costs.

■ Production Speed and Tension Stability
The SH-3AG can adjust wire feed speed and maintain constant tension during intake, enabling continuous high-quality and stable processing. The production speed is approximately 3 times faster than traditional coiling methods.

■ FAQ
Q: How does the 2-point coiling system differ from the 1-point system in terms of quality? A: The 2-point system better distributes friction during spring formation. Most importantly, it is arbor-less, meaning there are no scratches inside the spring—a critical requirement for medical devices.
Q: How does the automatic cut function improve production efficiency?
A: It allows the machine to produce springs continuously without needing to stop for manual cutting, saving time and reducing material waste between workpieces.

■ Glossary
Arbor-less: A spring-forming technique that does not require a center mandrel, ensuring the highest integrity of the internal spring surface.
Initial Tension: The force that pulls spring coils tightly together, affecting the spring's elasticity and recovery.
Rotary Discharge Shooter (PR-1): An option used to receive and transport extra-long springs from the machine to prevent distortion or damage during handling.
