APR Air Pressure Regulator | Self-fluid Actuated (No External Power) | Maintains Constant Burner Differential Pressure
Chugai Ro provides the APR Air Pressure Regulator for industrial combustion and fluid control systems, starting from basic
components.
■ Structure and Operating Principle
The APR Air Pressure Regulator is different from standard control valves. It does not use pneumatic air, hydraulic fluid, or electricity (it is not a Motorized Valve). Instead, it is a "Self-fluid Actuated" regulator. This means it uses the low-pressure air from the very fluid it is controlling as the power source to move its actuator. This smart design allows the device to control the fluid flow accurately and reliably without needing any outside power supply.
■ Combustion Control Features
In a combustion system, when you turn the burner power up or down, it changes the resistance inside the pipes and can cause pressure inside the furnace to go up and down. The main job of the APR model is to automatically respond to these changes and keep the "Differential Pressure" at the burner completely steady. This ensures the burner operates smoothly under any changing conditions.

■ FAQ
Q1 : What power source does the APR model use to operate?
A1 : It does not plug into electricity or use an external air compressor. It uses a "Self-fluid Actuated" system, meaning it powers itself by drawing low-pressure air directly from the fluid flowing through it.
Q2 : How does this device help a combustion system?
A2 : When a furnace changes its firing rate, the internal pressure fluctuates. The APR device automatically adjusts to these changes to keep the pressure difference (Differential Pressure) at the burner constant, keeping the flame
and heat output stable.
■ Glossary
- Self-fluid Actuated: A mechanism where a valve uses the pressure of the fluid flowing through it as its own energy source to open or
close, rather than relying on external power. - Differential Pressure: The difference in pressure between two points. Keeping this constant at the burner ensures a steady mix of air
and fuel. - Actuator: The mechanical part of the device that physically moves to adjust the valve and control the flow.
