During cutting and grinding processes, cutting fluids and cutting oils can become fine oil mist and spread around machine tools. Oil mist collectors draw in and capture this mist from inside the machine, helping reduce airborne dispersion and oil deposits on floors and equipment.

Structure and Operating Principle

Oil mist generated inside the machine tool is drawn into the collector, where high-speed turbine blades agglomerate and separate the mist particles.

After primary separation, the air passes through multiple filter layers to capture remaining fine particles before being discharged from the unit. The separated cutting fluid or cutting oil is discharged as liquid and, depending on operating conditions, can be returned to the machine tool for reuse.

Filter configurations for particles as small as 0.3 µm are also available.

The unit is designed for top access, making filter cleaning and replacement easier.

In a test using a Tsugami B0205-III Swiss-type automatic lathe, PM2.5 concentration was reduced from 692 µg/m³ before filtration to 4 µg/m³ after filtration, achieving an improvement rate of 99.4%.
