From the Design and Manufacturing of Production Equipment and Jigs to Parts Machining. Nagai Giken (Thailand) Responds to Customer Requests, Including Short Lead Times and Labor-Intensive Jobs

We handle production equipment, labor-saving equipment, jigs, and parts under an integrated system covering everything from design to manufacturing. To bring Japan’s excellent technologies and equipment to ASEAN countries, we established our local subsidiary in Thailand in 2014. As a “handyman” that promptly solves all kinds of requests, including short lead-time jobs, labor-intensive small-lot work, and minor production-floor problems, we have been supported by many companies in Thailand.

Achievements of Nagai Giken (Thailand)

・Welding equipment for the production of automotive doors/mufflers
・Jigs for welding equipment
・Transport pallets
・Parts machining (particularly skilled in cutting with milling machines)
 etc.

■ Three Strengths of Nagai Giken (Thailand)

There are many competitors in Thailand, but the following are the strengths of Nagai Giken.

❶Strength ①: Materials▶︎Various Sizes of Migaki Materials Are Always in Stock, Enabling an Immediate Response to Customer Needs

Among steel materials, SS400 is one of the most widely used.
SS refers to rolled steel for general structures, while the number indicates the minimum guaranteed tensile strength (MPa).
S45C, a material similar to SS400 but with superior strength and hardness, is also frequently used.

Depending on the surface finish, these materials are classified as “black-surface material” and “migaki material.”
In general, black-surface material has a black surface due to oxidation, while migaki material has a clean surface finish and is suitable for machining that requires high dimensional accuracy. Which material is used depends on the customer, but in Thailand, black-surface material is most commonly specified. As a result, there are very few companies in Thailand that keep migaki materials in stock.

However, some Japanese companies specify migaki materials.
In addition to SS400 / S45C, we always keep various sizes of A2017 (aluminum), which is not commonly distributed in Thailand, in stock. This enables us to respond immediately to customers who require these materials.

➋Strength ②: Staff▶︎Fluent Japanese-Speaking Staff Who Fully Understand Japanese Quality and the Japanese Way of Thinking

▲Our staff can communicate in Japanese, providing smooth and reassuring communication

The Thai staff working at Nagai Giken (Thailand) have all completed technical internship training in Japan. They fully understand Japanese-standard quality and the Japanese way of thinking. Japanese is used for everything, from communication and instructions on the production floor to design drawings and work instructions. Because there is no need for interpreters or translations, there is no concern about misunderstandings caused by subtle nuances in language.

In other words, we work in an environment that is almost identical to a production site in Japan.
This is why, even while operating in Thailand, we can manufacture high-quality products that meet the detailed requirements of Japanese customers.

❸Strength ③: Equipment▶︎Backed by 40 Years of Experience in Japan, We Use the Same Equipment, Tools, and Parts as in Japan

We use the same equipment and tools as our headquarters in Japan. In addition, all of the equipment and tools we use are manufactured by Japanese manufacturers or are equivalent to them. Parts such as cap bolts and hex bolts are also products made by Japanese manufacturers.

There are two reasons why we place such importance on Japanese products.
The first is to “maintain accuracy and quality.” The second is to enable “mutual cooperation with our headquarters.”

Not only can the production sites in Japan and Thailand support each other when one side lacks a particular process, but work can also be transferred immediately in the event of an unforeseen situation. In addition, if there are questions or problems concerning machine maintenance or operation, they can be resolved promptly.

Close cooperation with our headquarters allows us not only to provide high levels of accuracy and quality, but also to accommodate customer requirements to the fullest extent and reliably meet delivery deadlines.

Nagai Giken (Thailand) uses these three strengths to provide Japanese-quality service in Thailand.
