Mabuchi Motor announces the acquisition of shares in Masdac Co., Ltd.

Mabuchi Motor has announced the acquisition of shares in Masdac Co., Ltd., a Japanese food machinery manufacturer, making the company its subsidiary. Through this acquisition, Mabuchi Motor aims to further expand its business under the e-MOTO concept, which focuses on providing a wide range of “motion” solutions beyond motor manufacturing alone.

Masdac was founded in 1957 and is engaged in the development, manufacturing, sales, and maintenance of food machinery, as well as the research, development, and production of food products. The company has particular expertise in confectionery production machinery, including fully automatic dorayaki machines, ovens, steamers, and various confectionery production systems.

Masdac’s key strength lies in being a specialist in both confectionery and machinery. With more than 60 years of experience in confectionery production, the company is able to apply the knowledge and expertise gained from its own confectionery factories to develop and improve machinery that effectively meets customer needs.

The total value of the acquisition is approximately 15.632 billion yen. Upon completion of the transaction, Mabuchi Motor will hold 100% of Masdac’s shares. The share transfer is expected to be completed around mid-June 2026.

Mabuchi Motor plans to leverage its strengths in global business networks, production technology, and automation capabilities to support Masdac’s growth and expand its food machinery business into overseas markets.

Overall, the acquisition of Masdac represents an important step for Mabuchi Motor in expanding its business portfolio into the Machinery field, one of the company’s three key strategic areas alongside Mobility, Machinery, and Medical.
