Introduction

In recent years, environmental regulations for industrial cleaning agents have been strengthened year by year, driven by ozone layer protection and global warming countermeasures. HCFC-225 and chlorine/bromine-based solvents, which have been widely used, are now required to be replaced due to environmental impact and safety concerns. The conversion to new solvents that balance both cleaning performance and environmental performance has become a critical issue.

Against this backdrop, the next-generation fluorinated cleaning agent "1233Z (HFO-1233zd(Z))", classified as a hydrofluoroolefin (HFO) type, has emerged. 1233Z is a non-CFC solvent independently developed by Central Glass Co., Ltd., possessing excellent environmental characteristics with a virtually zero ozone depletion potential (ODP) and a global warming potential (GWP) of less than 1.

Furthermore, it combines high degreasing cleaning power, non-flammability, and low toxicity, which are required for industrial applications in terms of safety and handling. As it is not subject to regulations under the Act on Rational Use and Proper Management of Fluorocarbons, it is attracting attention as a next-generation industrial cleaning agent.

  With a KB value of 34, it exhibits excellent solubility for various oils.

  It has an appropriate boiling point, allowing for shorter drying processes.
