Heat-resistant Copper Anti-tarnish Agent BT-8
A Must-See for Those Struggling with Rust Prevention
― Copper Discoloration Inhibitor BT Series ―
Importance of Rust Prevention
Discoloration and corrosion of metal parts lead to increased costs due to rework, disposal, and customer complaints.
Copper materials, in particular, are susceptible to environmental influences, and implementing appropriate rust prevention measures leads to reduced quality risks and stable production.
Copper discoloration inhibitors protect copper surfaces with a simple treatment, providing an effective rust prevention measure that ensures stable quality maintenance.
Product Overview
Copper discoloration inhibitors are surface protection agents that suppress discoloration caused by oxidation and sulfidation on the surface of copper and copper alloys (such as brass and bronze).
They prevent appearance degradation during storage, transportation, and manufacturing processes, contributing to quality stabilization and improved yield.
Necessity of Copper Discoloration Prevention
While copper excels in conductivity and workability, discoloration can occur due to the following factors:
- Oxidation by oxygen in the air
- Sulfidation by sulfur compounds (e.g., hydrogen sulfide)
- Adhesion of moisture, salt, fingerprints, and oil
These can lead to:
- Poor appearance
- Increased contact resistance
- Problems in subsequent processes (soldering, plating)
and other quality issues.
Features of the BT Series
The BT series is a copper discoloration inhibitor with a proven track record and high reputation.
Many cases of copper discoloration prevention require high heat resistance, so we offer a heat-resistant type that can withstand high-temperature environments.
Mechanism of Action of BT-8
When copper material, with oxide film and oil stains removed, is immersed in BT-8, organic substances combine with copper to form a complex,
creating a uniform anti-discoloration film on the copper surface, thereby preventing oxidation.
The formed film has excellent electrical conductivity, making it widely usable for electrical and electronic component applications.
Furthermore, the copper discoloration removal and prevention effect is also effective for copper alloys such as brass.
Applications
Heat-resistant copper discoloration inhibitor

Product Information
BT-8 Petroleum Can 18L
Summary of Features
- No flammable solvents used, thus no risk of flammability
- Forms a strong anti-discoloration film using special agents
- Water-soluble type with superior heat resistance compared to BT-5 and BT-7
- The film is highly hydrophilic, with good compatibility with water-soluble paints
- Due to high hydrophilicity, the anti-discoloration effect may decrease in high-humidity environments
